Charlotte Ray Canady, 80, of Morehead City and formerly of Gray’s Creek, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
Charlotte was born on November 15, 1943, in Fayetteville, NC, to the late Edgar and Flora Canady. She grew up in her hometown of Gray’s Creek, later moving to Morehead City in 2010. Known for her love of UNC Basketball, she seldom missed a game and cheered for her team wholeheartedly. Charlotte kept active by playing golf, she enjoyed the challenge of the game and the beauty of the green. Fishing was yet another pastime that brought her great joy. And of course, she loved her family and was always delighted to spend time with her great-grandson, Zachariah.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon Denise Kaylor of Newport, NC; son, Danny Lee Boahn (Helen) of Fayetteville, NC; brothers, Lawrence Canady (Becky) and Edgar Canady Jr. (Carol), all of Gray’s Creek, NC; grandchildren, Anthony Boahn (Ashley) of Morehead City, Sharon A. Boahn of Hope Mills, NC, Bobby Dean Burnette and John Dylan Burnette, both of Eastover, NC, Tabitha Boahn of Fayetteville, NC, and Bryan Austin Kaylor of Morehead City, NC; and great-grandchildren, Logan Ray Boahn and Zachariah Jaden Boahn.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lynn Boahn and sister, Shirley Brewer.
