Charles "Pete" Wilson Dressel, Jr.

Charles "Pete" Dressel, 81, of Morehead City, died peacefully Thursday, May 8, 2014 at his home surrounded by family.
A funeral and interment service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Francis By the Sea Episcopal Church with the Reverend Everett Thomas officiating.
Pete attended the University of Maryland before being drafted into the US Army where he served as an Army Medic in Korea, and was honorably discharged on April 3, 1962. He was a life-long member of the American Legion. After retirement he worked as a realtor for Century 21 Newsome-Ball . He won the 2012 President's Award, and was the 2012 Carteret County Realtor of the Year. He was active in the Realtor Political Action Committee, Public Relations Committee, and the Holiday Baskets. He participated in the Crystal Coast Chamber of Commerce, where he was awarded the Outrageous Customer Service Award in 2011, and served on the Military Affairs Committee.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Elliott Dressel of the home; a daughter, Bethanne Dressel of Steamboat Springs, CO; son, Matt Dressel of Morehead City; and a granddaughter, Mary Rachel Hostetter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wilson and Virginia Mills Dressel.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Francis By the Sea Episcopal Church 920 Salter Path Rd. Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.
