Charles "Doug" Douglas Boyd

Charles "Doug" Douglas Boyd, 71, of Newport, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at home with family.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 Thursday at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. David Mills officiating. Interment will be 10:00 am Saturday at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens at 2150 Mount View Road, Marriottsville, MD 21104.
Doug was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed dearly. He loved playing the piano, singing in the church choirs, and serving as deacon at Parkview Baptist Church. He loved jogging, cycling, and swimming. He served in the US Navy, was a Vietnam War Veteran, and retired from IBM after 28 years of service, and Moen.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Ella Ruth Boyd; two sons Mark Douglas and wife Janette of Raleigh, and Stephen Richard and wife Carrie of Matthews; grandchildren Isabella, Annaka, Audrey, and Carter; and one sister Martha Diane Kelch.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lucius Massey Boyd, and Lalla Rouke Moss Boyd, sisters Sherry Lou Kendall, and Denise Boyd.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
