Charles “Nathan” Taylor, 83, of Broad Creek, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Carteret Health Care.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Broad Creek Community Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Bob Lowery.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Civil Service after 33 years of service, and he also worked as a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Marie Combs Taylor of the home; daughter, Brenda Taylor Blevins and husband David of Newport; sons, Michael Ray Holmes and wife Ethel of West Warwick, RI and Timothy Nathan Taylor and wife Loretta of Broad Creek; grandchildren, Michael Holmes, Jr., George Holmes, Howard Holmes, Tonya Holmes, Amanda Hansley Stephens, Brandon Hansley, and Lauren Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren; and his four legged friend, Jake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Butler Taylor and Gertrude Adams Taylor; and brothers, Plymouth Harding Taylor, Curtis Hoover Taylor and Louis Edmond Taylor.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
