Cesar Echeverria
November 13, 1930 — February 3, 2016
Cesar Echeverria, 85, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Crystal Coast Hospice House surrounded by his family.
The Rite of Committal will be held 10:00 am Monday, February 8, 2016 at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Father Greg Spencer of Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock presiding.
Mr. Echeverria was born in Ecuador and immigrated to the United States where he achieved the American dream when he became a citizen in 1971. He retired to North Carolina after a long successful career as an accountant in New York, NY. He loved photography and painting. He was always ready to play chess. Cesar also enjoyed the outdoors and skeet shooting in his youth. A devoted husband father, and grandfather, that will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Echeverria ; four daughters, Martha Reynolds, Maria Chiesa, Rocio Echeverria, and Monica Keady; two sons, Ivan Echeverria, and Robert Echeverria; brothers, Eduardo Echeverria and Hernan Echeverria; also three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Humberto and Maria Echeverria; and a brother, Jorge Echeverria.
