Cecil Gordon Smith

Cecil Gordon Smith, 86, of Newport, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Life Care Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith was retired from the NC State Port as a long shoreman. He lived his life here on the coast farming, fishing and helping others.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy Padrick of Newport; son, Phillip Smith of Newport; three grandchildren, Michael Smith, Krystal Padrick and Joseph Smith all of Newport; two great-grandchildren, Aden Smith and Ian Plisko; also one brother and one sister.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
