Catherine "Cathy" Bridget Fescharek

Catherine “Cathy” Fescharek, 74, of Morehead City passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St. Egbert’s Catholic Church in Morehead City with the Rev. Thomas R. Davis presiding.

Cathy was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from St. Rose High School in 1960.  She obtained a cosmetology degree before becoming a member of the Manasquan police department, as a dispatcher. She then became a corrections officer in Monmouth County Correction Facility.  She retired in 2004 and moved to Morehead City, NC.  She loved painting and knitting.  A lot of her retirement was spent on her back deck with her dog P.J. and on the beach with her beloved sisters.

Cathy is survived by her daughters, Judy Roberts and husband Kenny of Montpelier, VT, Karyl Kauls of Cary, NC, Nancy Matsinger and husband Mike of Cary, NC and Cindy Fescharek of New Orleans, LA; son, Bob Fescharek of Loxahatchee, FL; sisters, Joan Brown and husband George and Regina Broadbelt and husband Curtis; grandchildren, Johnny, Kyle, Holly, Brittany, Michael, Riley, Katelyn and Allison; great grandchild, Cameryn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierce Vincent and Catherine Cecilia (Maguire) Driscoll; brother, Thomas Driscoll; and sister in law, Vickie Driscoll.

The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at St. Egbert’s.
