Carrie Lewis Wallace, 70, of South River, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
Her service will be held at 11:00am Saturday at Edwards Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, South River, with Pastor Dr. Jerry English officiating. Interment will follow at the Cannon Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Wallace devoted her entire life to taking care of others. She worked for twenty years at Harbor View Nursing Home, then as a care giver to family and dear friends. She was a caring, loving friend to everyone she met.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Cahoon and husband Tony, and Janet Burns and husband Sidney; two grandsons, William Paul Cahoon, and Thomas Rone Burns and wife Donna; and one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Burns.
She was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Lillian Lewis, her husband William (Tinker) Wallace, and three brothers, Larry Paul Lewis, Berkley Lewis, and Luther Paul Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Church Saturday.
