Carolyn Long Rouse, 81, of Washington, NC, formerly of Carteret County, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
A funeral service to honor Carolyn’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 18th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Carolyn was born on July 11, 1942, in Newport, NC, to the late Sonny and Jean Long. In her early years, she worked at Blue Bell Shirt Factory where she excelled in her skill and displayed a strong work ethic.
Carolyn loved the simple pleasures of life, whether she was going shopping, or cruising on a pontoon in search of dolphins, she enjoyed every moment. Her favorite outing was to the Beauty Shop to get her hair done, she loved getting dolled up and chatting with the ladies.
Above all, Carolyn found the greatest joy in spending time with her family, creating treasured memories that will be forever cherished. Carolyn’s impact on those she encountered in life will always be remembered fondly.
Those remaining include her son, Jackie Rouse (Gayle Nelson) of Vanceboro; sister, Linda Riggs (Harold) of Newport; grandchildren, Jackie Rouse Jr. of Newport and Jason Rouse (Brandon) of Vermont; and great-grandchildren, Jack Rouse, and Kinley Rouse.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Rouse; and siblings, Sharon Garner and Ira William Long.
