Caroline (Willis) Melke

Caroline W. Melke, 81, of Morehead City, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Durham.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the Crystal Coast Church Of The Nazarene with Rev. Gene McLendon and Rev. Don Arthur officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery. Following the Interment the family will receive friends at the Church Fellowship Hall.
She was a member of the Crsytal Coast Church Of The Nazarene, served in the U.S. Navy, and volunteered at the History Place in Morehead City and the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum in Harkers Island.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Horne and husband Michael of New Bern and Leslie Griffin and husband Jeff of Hamilton; three sons, David Melke of Havelock, Richard Melke and wife Charlene of Beaufort, and Anthony Melke and wife Lisa of Newport; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Melke and son, Gary Melke.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
