Carol Guthrie Vance, 80, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri.

There will be a Mass of Resurrection service at 11 am, Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, North Carolina, officiated by Father William Upah. Interment to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Carol grew up in Swansboro but lived the last ten years of her life with her daughter Brenda and her family in Kearney.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Carol is survived by daughters, Janet Higgins and husband Eddie of Knoxville, TN, Brenda Hoover and husband Robert of Kearney, MO; son, Roy Harmon of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Michael Hoover of Kearney, MO, Kelli Hoover of Kearney, MO, and Cody Brant of Knoxville, TN.  She is also survived by sisters, Linda Coleman and husband Clinton of Jacksonville, Vesta Willis and husband Wade of Salter Path, Sandra Pierce of Sneads Ferry, Bernadette Liverman and husband Benny of Sneads Ferry, Darlene Guthrie and husband Ernie, Sr. of Salter Path; and brother, Leslie Earl Guthrie, Jr. of Morehead City.  She also has numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Earl Guthrie, Sr. and Oleda Smith Guthrie; her sister, Phyllis Bass Snipes and her brother, Walter Ray Guthrie.

The family requests gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org in lieu of flowers.
