Carol Lynn Owens, 52, of Newport, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at home.
Ms. Owens was born February 16, 1960 at Cherry Point, N.C. to Richard and Jeanne Owens.
Nothing says more about Lynn than the amount of concern and care she had for the elderly. She was a resident's aide at Carolina House. She took pride in the people that she cared for as a home health aide. She loved taking care of others.
She is survived by her fiance', James Walker Guthrie, Sr., her daughters, Rebecca Magruder, Sandra Nickell, and Jessica Small, and her sons, Joshua and Jacob Lasselle, and seven grandchildren.
She is also survived by her mother, Jeanne Slater, her siblings, Karen Robertson, Phyllis Dunkerson, Howard Owens, Brenda Pettry, Bradley Slater, Victor and Virginia Slater along with ten nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
Service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Glad Tidings Church with Rev. Tim Mariner officiating. Interment will follow at Harlowe United Methodist Church Cemetery.
