Carmen was born on October 11, 1955, in Bay Point, New York, and was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Masako Frigenti.
Known for her unwavering commitment to helping others, Carmen distinguished herself as a trailblazer in our community, becoming the first female paramedic in Carteret County. Her dedication to emergency services was evident throughout her career, where she excelled as a skilled paramedic and level 3 firefighter. Carmen worked diligently with various emergency medical services and fire departments, her longest tenure being with Western Carteret and Newport, until her retirement in 2012. Her strength and determination were seen in every aspect of her work and life, and she approached each challenge with a strong sense of purpose.
Family was at the heart of Carmen's life. She cherished her children and took great pride in being a grandmother to her precious grandchildren. Carmen was known for her culinary talents, always happy to cook a delicious meal for her loved ones and gather them around the table. Her meatballs and chicken cutlets became favorites among family and friends, and her sweet tooth was filled through her favorite treats from Dunkin Donuts.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beth Reid (Brian Fowler) of Morehead City, NC; sons, Donald "DJ" Reid Jr. of Morehead City, NC and Shawn Reid of Oregon; grandchildren, Corbett Lynn Reid and Lillian Francis Fowler; and her sweet dog, Maggie “PiPi”.
In addition to her parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Frigenti; and her furry friends, her dogs, Sadie and Sutton “Bubba”.
