Callie (Lupton) Ferrier

Callie Lupton Ferrier, 93, of Beaufort, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at Harborview Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
She was born August 30, 1918 to the late Jim Allen and Sophia Goodwin Lupton. She graduated from Atlantic High School Class of 1936 and from Beauty School in Norfolk, Virginia. She owned and operated Callies Beauty Shop on Craven Street in Beaufort in the 1950's, and some people even today say she gave them the best haircut they ever had. Her greatest interest later in life was her art work. She enjoyed painting and drawing.
She ie survived by her daughter, Beverly F. Taylor and husband Julius of Beaufort; two grandchildren, Julius Taylor, III of Beaufort and Charlotte Lee Taylor of Florham Park, NJ; one greatgrandchild and one greatgrandcat "Steven".
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Ferrier, three brothers, Baker Lupton, Allen Lupton and Jimmy Lupton and a sister, Ellen Dickinson.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
