Bunny Burt

Bunny Bunting Burt, 59, of Newport, died Monday, August 2, 2010 at Carolina East Medical Center.

Mrs. Burt served in the U.S. Army Women's Army Corps, She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church, the Carolina Seagulls RV Club, and employed by the Carteret County Board of Education.

A memorial service will be held 7 pm Thursday at Open Door Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Linebarger officiating with Military Honors. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, John T. Burt of the home; daughter, Nori A. Jackson and husband MSGT Dan E. (USMC) of Oceanside, CA; son, John L. Burt of Siler City, NC; three brothers, David Bunting and wife Doris of Pasadena, MD, John Michael Bunting and wife Rita of Madeira Beach, FL, and James Andrew Bunting and wife Hedda of Newport, NC; two sisters, Mary Kay Bunting of Sykesville, MD and Sharon N. Bunting of the home; four grandchildren, Dan E. Jackson II, Dezrae A. Jackson, Laci M. Burt, and Keigan H. Burt, and a host of friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry T. and Barbara Jean Bunting, and sister, Barbara Dolbey.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the service at the Church.
