Brian Micheal Miller Sr.

Brian Michael Miller Sr., 57, of Swansboro, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

Brian was born on March 8, 1967, in Syracuse, New York to Robert E. Miller and Patricia R. Ruthart. After completing high school, he pursued higher education at Johnson & Wales University, where he achieved his associate’s degree and ventured into the business sector of culinary arts.

Passionate about sports, Brian was an enthusiastic golfer and a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles football team as well as a loyal supporter of the Montreal Canadiens hockey team. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching his favorite TV programs. 

While he was often playfully teased by his sister for lacking handyman skills with a hammer, what he lacked in those skills he certainly made up for when grilling an amazing meal for his family. Known for his soft spot for animals, Brian warmly greeted every furry friend he encountered. He shared a deep bond of laughter with his best friend Mark, finding humor in every aspect of life they experienced together. 

Described as loving, compassionate, and generous, Brian held a special place in his heart for his family. He will be forever missed by his loved ones who are brokenhearted over his passing.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his mother, Patricia R. Ruthart of Swansboro, NC; sister, Rhonda L. Chamberlain of Swansboro, NC; sons, Michael Miller and Taylor Miller, both of Massachusetts; granddaughter, Cameron Miller of Massachusetts; special friends, Mark and Marie Stephan of Massachusetts; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Brian was preceded in death by his wife, Samantha Miller; father, Robert E. Miller; stepfather, Robert J. Ruthart; brothers, Robert E. Miller II and Kenneth D. Chamberlain; and his beloved German Shepherd, Shady.
