Brenda “T” Blevins, 59, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Carteret Health Care.
A funeral service to honor Brenda’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 3rd at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Bob Lowery. Interment will follow at Amariah Garner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, October 2nd at Munden Funeral Home.
Born in Hammonton, New Jersey, on September 1, 1964, Brenda was the daughter of Nathan and Wanda Taylor. Her family made their way south to Carteret County, North Carolina, in 1965, making the Crystal Coast her forever home. Brenda graduated from West Carteret High School with the Class of 1982.
In her professional life, Brenda was a dedicated employee of 22 years with Big Rock Sports, leaving an indelible mark on the company. Brenda later took on a new chapter, joining the Carteret County Health Department, where she served the community for 8 years as an Environmental Health professional. She was committed to the betterment of her community and worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of others.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Brenda found solace and joy in nature. She possessed an unyielding love for the great outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Brenda's adventurous spirit allowed her to appreciate the beauty of the world around her and create memories that will forever be cherished.
While Brenda was a woman of many remarkable qualities, it was her devotion to her family that truly defined her. As a loving wife to her husband David, she built a lifelong partnership grounded in love, trust, and unwavering commitment.
A dedicated mother, Brenda poured her heart and soul into raising her children and nurturing the bond they shared. Her children were the light of her life, and she found tremendous joy in watching them grow into passionate and remarkable individuals. Brenda delighted in the special moments spent with her grandchildren, their laughter filled her heart, and their happiness brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, David Blevins; mother, Wanda Taylor; daughters, Amanda Hansley Stephens, Taylor Hansley, and Cierra Hansley; sons, Brandon Ray Hansley and Brandon Ray Hansley Jr.; stepson, Hunter Blevins; brothers, Timothy Taylor and Michael Ray Holmes; grandchildren, Trinity Stephens, Kylah Stephens, Alexa Hansley, Caiden Stephens, Bentley Blevins, Oaklynn Blevins, and Hazley Blevins; and special friends of over 50 years, Debbie Worley Manley and Diane Boulanger.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Taylor.
