Capt. Brantley Kearney, USMC Retired, 86, of Havelock, passed away on June 26, 2021, peacefully at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City with Dr. Matthew Long officiating. A graveside service, with military honors, will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens in Havelock.

Brantley was born on November 13, 1934, in Bunn, North Carolina. He served 30 years in the United States Marines and worked at Cherry Point for 20 years. He was a devout member of First Baptist Church in Havelock. Brantley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne Kearney and wife Michelle of Newport, Earl Kearney of Havelock, NC, Henry Kearney and wife Karen of New Bern, NC, Joe Kearney and wife Cheryl of Newport, NC; grandchildren, Holly Robison, Amanda Kearney, Steven Kearney, Justin Kearney, Taylor Page, Matthew Willis, Chelsea Willis, Tyller Prive, and Lauren Forbush; and great-grandchildren, Liam Page, Redding Robison, Owen Cole Onuffer, Katie DeWar, Alex DeWar, Arianna DeWar, Joshua DeWar, Mary Rose Lashus, and David Roger Lashus IV.
Brantley was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Kearney; daughter-in-law, Kathy Kearney; and granddaughter Erin DeWar.
His visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
