Bonnie Jean (Morton) Byrd

May 5, 1941 — May 2, 2014

Bonnie J. Morton Byrd, 72, of Newport, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Lowery, and Rev. John Steen officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Bonnie is survived by two daughters Pat Wallace (Lou) of Newport, and Becky Lee (Richard) of Newport; two sons David Knox (Tammy) of Mill Creek, and Joseph Knox (Marianne) of Washington, NC; eleven grandchildren Amanda Lyle, Heather Ames, Justin Knox, Cody Guthrie, Austin Guthrie, Samantha Lee, Joseph Knox, Samantha Knox, Katrina Knox, Dawn Wrench, and Brian Thompson; nine great grandchildren Emma Rose Lyle, Jack Lyle, George Lyle, Easton Knox, Levi Pullen, Tyler Wrench, Trevor Thompson, Parker Thompson, and Bladen Thompson; two brothers Dan Morton, and James Ray Morton of Gairfield, GA; and one sister Loretta Culpepper of Mill Creek.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Daisey Morton, and two brothers Leslie W. Morton, and Douglas Earl Morton.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home.
