Bobby Kevin Young

Bobby Kevin Young, 58, of Havelock, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Carolina East Medical Center.

His memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, March 17, at the Chattaroy Church of God in Chattaroy, West Virginia, with the Rev. Michael Bostic officiating.   He will be laid to rest at the Tom Fraley Cemetery in Stone, Kentucky.

Bobby was born on October 13, 1963, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital in Williamson, West Virginia, and grew up in Turkey Creek, Kentucky. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps and in 1986, he moved to the military area of Craven County, North Carolina. Bobby loved playing the guitar, enjoying the rhythm and beautiful sound. Fishing was another great enjoyment that was both relaxing and challenging. Gaming was his area of expertise and entertainment.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Bennett Young of the home; children, Latishia Young and William Young, both of Havelock; mother, JoAnn Williamson of Belfry, KY; sister, Kimberly Dotson of Belfry, KY; brothers, Barry Young (Lauren) of Pikeville, KY and Chad Hubbard (Bridgett) of Logan, WV; granddaughter, Shaelynn Young of Havelock; adopted children, Brittany Washington and Elaine Hodge; and adopted great grandchildren, Peyton Evans and Hailey Manary.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Donald “Bob” Ray Young and brother, Bruce Young.
