Bobby Grant Tilley
February 2, 1942 — April 25, 2015
Bobby Grant Tilley, 73, of Morehead City, passed away, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
The family will conduct a memorial service 2:30 pm Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Morehead City with Rev. Nate Leonard officiating.
Bobby served his country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard, he retired after 31 years with G.T.E.. He remained active by gardening, fishing, and building things with his hands, enjoyed picking his grandchildren up from school, and having breakfast daily with his breakfast club at Hardees.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judi Smith Tilley of the home; daughter, Nita Tilley Mercer and husband Jimmy of Morehead City; son, Marcus Grant Tilley and wife Kerry of San Angelo, TX; sister, Dawn Tilley Watkins; grandchildren, Tyler and Jenna Mercer, Wyatt Grant Tilley and Baylee Hyde; his beloved dog, Simba; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jessie Hayes Tilley; brother, Billy Tilley; and sister, Von Ray.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
