Bobby Gray Thompson Sr.

Bobby Gray Thompson Sr., 63, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Bobby was born on September 20, 1961, in Clinton, NC. Known for his great sense of humor, Bobby had the remarkable ability to bring laughter wherever he went. His kindness and generosity were evident in the countless times he extended a helping hand to those in need. Bobby's compassion knew no bounds, he was always willing to give the shirt off his back, never hesitating to support others, regardless of whether you were on his good or his bad list.

For 17 years, Bobby managed Hardee’s restaurant in Morehead City, where his exceptional people skills contributed greatly to the business. He later took on the role of delivering the Carteret News Times in Morehead City. Always one to stay busy he then worked at ACE Hardware in Beaufort where he enjoyed interacting with the customers.

Outside of work, Bobby was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed the entertainment of watching wrestling. He appreciated a good classic mystery show, with "Murder She Wrote" and "Matlock" being his favorite.

Above all, Bobby was a devoted family man who valued his loved ones. He will be lovingly remembered as a supportive and loving father.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his son, Bobby G. Thompson Jr. (Malisa) of Morehead City, NC; ex-wife, Pamela Thompson (Terry) of Morehead City, NC; his aunt who helped with his upbringing, Earnestine Owen of Clinton, NC; and his grand fur babies, Una and Rusty.

Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents who lovingly raised him, Roland and Pearl Gainus.
