Bobby Joe Brooks, 70 , of Emerald Isle, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Carolina East Medical Center.
No services will be held.
Bobby is survived by his sister, Dianne Brooks Brown and husband Dennis; nieces, Stephanie Brown Coates and husband Michael, and Danielle Brown Nash and husband Robert; aunt, Gladys Jennings; great nieces, Grace Coates and Brianna Bolling; and great nephew, Justin Bolling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Alma Brooks.
Bobby attended Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, SC and graduated Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. He worked for Hastings Co. in King, NC and lived in both Winston Salem and Clemmons, NC. After retiring, he moved to Emerald Isle, NC where he thoroughly enjoyed all his new friends and activities. He liked kayaking, cooking, gardening and “Silver Sneakers” classes at the Cape Carteret Aquatic Center where he made so many good friends.
He was a member of the Humane Society and a contributor to “Hem of His Garment” in Swansboro.
