Bobbie Thomasson

September 9, 1927 — April 4, 2010

Bobbie Thomasson, 83, of Morehead City, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Thomasson was born in Morehead City to the late Robert and Lily Garner. She attended Morehead City High School, graduated fromWatts School of Nursing and obtained her Masters degree in Counseling from UNC. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Morehead City.

Many of you knew her as ?Miss Bobbie?. In her youth she had a great love for the sea that she learned from her father, Robert. She spent her youth on Bogue Sound sailing. In high school, she was an energetic and skilled majorette and loved the thrill of participating in High School events. After college, ?Miss Bobbie? spent many years away from the town and friends that she cherished. In 1997, she returned to Morehead with her husband, Greg. Together with Greg, she built her retirement home under the big oak tree at 1901 Evans St., that she grew up under. Miss Bobbie then spent her time with her family and friends and serving in the church and the community that she so dearly loved.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Bayview Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Greg Thomasson; son, Will Pratt of South River; brothers, Robert Garner of Beaufort and Jerry Garner of St. Pauls; brothers-in-law, Nick Thomasson of Huntsville, AL and Tripp Thomasson and wife, Teresa of Irmo, SC; sisters-in-law, Dawn Troxler of Burlington, Sue Massey and husband Bernie of Burlington and Nadine Thomasson and Nancy Thomasson, both of Sunset Beach; nieces and nephews, Frankie Garner of Beaufort, Jerri Leigh Dingledine of Holly Springs, Jerry Lee Garner, Jr. of Morehead City, Charles Gregory Garner of Beaufort, Kelly Leann Garner of St. Pauls, Sherry Lynn Garner of Beaufort and Debbie Brooks of Harkers Island and her canine companion, Rosie.
