Billy, or “Mac” as he was known by his friends, was born on February 11, 1938, in Galena, Missouri. Mac was a true patriot who served bravely in the United States Marine Corps, including tours in the Vietnam War. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of honorable service to our country.
Following his military retirement, he went on to teach and mentor students at Havelock High School where he taught Auto Mechanics and Electronics. He was also the Transportation Supervisor for Craven County Schools.
Mac was active with Amateur Radio where he served as the New Bern Club President for a number of years. He was known by his call letters “WA0ZGL” and enjoyed amateur radio during and after his military career. Always, one to share with others, Mac served with the American Red Cross and was named Volunteer of the Year. Mac was an active servant of the Lord and was a member of Riverdale United Methodist Church for many years. Mac will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and papa.
He is survived by his daughters, Leanna Radford and husband George, and Karen Wafford and husband Ed, all of Havelock; and grandchildren, Meghan Rebuli and husband Christian, Anna Radford, Taylor Wafford, and Meredith Radford.
Mac was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Eutsler; paternal grandparents who lovingly raised him, Bob and Addie Eutsler; sister, Dixie Chapman; and brothers, Ed Eutsler and Ray Eutsler.
