Billy Nelson, Jr. 72, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Nelson served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Nelson of Morehead City; two daughters, Darlene Scarboro of Avon and Tina Graham of Lumberton; two sons, Billy Nelson, III of Avon and Mark Nelson Graham of Lumberton; three sisters, Aileen Wisemann of Newport, Reva Elsworth of New Bern and Judy Nelson of Newport; brother, Jim Nelson of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Daisey Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial cards may be sent to Brenda Nelson, 501 Brooks St., Apt. 110, Morehead City, NC 28557.
