Billy Garner

Billy R. Garner, 70, of Newport, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Carteret General Hospital.
Mr. Garner was a veteran and served six years in the US Air Force. He retired from FAA, where he served as a Union Representative, after 36 years of service. He did contract work with Lockheed-Martin following retirement from FAA. He was also a Union representative.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Mariner officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Garner of Newport and Marcella Randall of FL; sisters, Diane Fahy of Morehead City and Jackie Herald of Hertford, NC; brothers, James Garner and Alvin Garner, both of Morehead City; grandchildren, Joseph Michael Garner, Justin Owen Garner, Sarah Nicole Randall and Joshua Nathaniel Randall.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ermyl "June" Garner.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
