Billie G. Johnson, 84, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Harborview Health Care Center in Morehead City.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Friday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Mr. Johnson was born in Bristol, VA. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in June 1948 and served his country for 20 years where he retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He also worked with the Elks Lodge, retired from the U.S. Postal Service and then enjoyed delivering automotive supplies for Kittrell Auto Parts. He loved his family, being a Marine and tinkering around his home and man cave.

He was completely devoted to his family, he loved them unconditionally.

He is survived by three daughters, Gail Zajac and husband Gary; Connie Hannah and Dave Dixon, and Pam Wilkins and husband Bob; seven grandchildren, Chris Johnson, Drew Zajac, Jason Pargeter, Michelle Pargeter, Jamie Willis, Felica Wilkins, and Melissa Wilkins; eight great-grandchildren, Randy Willis, Justin Miranda, Hunter Whitmore, Bradley Pargeter, Tyler Warbritton, Logan Warbritton, Mariah Wilkins and Zayle Wilkins; two great-great-grandchildren, William Miranda and the newest addition to the family, Chase Miranda, born August 27, 2013; sister, Blanche Davis of Bristol, VA; and devoted companion of 14 years, Susan Hopkins of Morehead City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smith Johnson, parents, Robert and Carrie Johnson and ten brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Blessings Ministries, 5178 Hwy 70, Morehead City, NC 28557, or to a charity of one's choice.
