Beverly Ackert Williams

Beverly Jean Ackert Williams, 60, of Welcome, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Lexington.

Her funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. James United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Supplee officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport.

Beverly grew up in Havelock and graduated from Havelock High School. She was a long-time employee of Food Lion where she was cherished by her friends and co-workers. Beverly was a member of First Alliance Church in Lexington, NC.

She is survived by her husband, J.R. Williams of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Ackert of Beaufort, Cristin Smith and husband Andrew of West Jefferson; sons, Chris Outlaw and wife Brenda of Goldsboro, Jeremy Williams and wife Amanda of West Jefferson; brother, Clif Ackert of Atlantic Beach; sister, Becky Ackert of Newport; and grandchildren, “Scooter” Ackert of Newport, Tieara Hargett of Beaufort, Taylor Hargett of Beaufort, and Tevin Hargett of Beaufort, Gabe Smith of West Jefferson , Sam Smith of West Jefferson, Keenan Witherspoon of West Jefferson, Kaleb Williams of West Jefferson, Cierra Steffens of Goldsboro, Emerson Outlaw of Goldsboro; niece, Brooke Ackert of Durham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Clifton and Virgil Corey Ackert; and her brother, Bill Ackert.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, August 4, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
