Beverly Bohannon

Beverly J. Bohannon, 97, formerly of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away on January 25, 2024, at the Carteret House in Newport, North Carolina.

Beverly was born March 30, 1926, to the late Floyd and Madge Pease. On April 10, 1948, in Long Beach, California she married Fred Bohannon who preceded her in death in 1994. Together they raised three children in Porter, Indiana: Victor, who passed away in 2023, Julie Barthel of Newport, North Carolina, and Steve Bohannon (Julie) of Chesterton, Indiana.

In addition to her children, she is survived by 6 grandchildren, Brian Barthel (Merrie) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Jeffrey Bohannon of Chesterton, Indiana, Ian Bohannon of San Luis Obispo, California, Alex Barthel of Newport, North Carolina, Zachary Barthel of New York City and Katherine Barthel (Sergio Navarro) of Newport, North Carolina; and 2 great-granddaughters, Eva Barthel of Colorado and Katerina Navarro of North Carolina.

Bev was a long-time member of the Duneland YMCA and the Red Hat Society.
