Betty Britt West, 78, of Morehead City, went home to be with her Lord Thursday July 12, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Monday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Williams officiating.
Betty moved to Morehead City in 2004 to live with her nephew, Jimmy Mercer and his wife Nita, and their children Tyler and Jenna. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a deacon and sang in the senior choir. She had an unwavering faith in the Lord.
She is survived by a daughter Jacqueline Parker of Venice, FL: two grandchildren Jessica Parker and Justin Parker: two sisters Dollie Mercer of Morehead City, and Nancy Poston and husband Tom of Glade Valley, NC: one brother Barry Donald Britt and wife Peggy of Lumberton: several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Truett West (1989).
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Joy Club of First Baptist Church 810 Bridges St. Morehead City, NC 28557.
