Betty (Ma) Davis Piner

August 27, 1925 — November 3, 2013

Betty (Ma) Davis  Piner, 88, of Davis, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Heritage Health Care at Taylor Place in Sea Level.

A Funeral Service will be held at  2:00 p.m.  on Thursday, November 7th at the Davis Free Will Baptist Church in Davis with the Rev. Jimmy Mercer officiating. Interment to follow at Murphy Family Cemetery.

She was born and raised in Davis and was a lifelong member of the Davis Free Will Baptist Church and had a deep faith in the Lord. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a very special woman and an icon to the community. She touched and enriched so many lives, creating lifelong bonds that will never be broken.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clinton Piner; two daughters, Betty Lou Piner of the home and Linda P. Willis of Davis; son, Byron L. Styron and wife Frances of Indiana; grandson, Jason Willis and wife Renae of Davis; granddaughter, Linda Carol Gillikin and husband Gene of Otway; granddaughter, Christie Wall and husband Keith of Harkers Island; grandson, Byron Styron, Jr. and wife Teresa of Greensboro; granddaughter, Mary Snider and husband Steven of Kentucky; granddaughter, Hannah Cunningham and husband Matt; grandson, Jonathan Styron and wife Amber, and grandson David Styron and wife Melody, all of Indiana; nine greta-grandchildren, Alicia Fulcher of Otway, Carleigh Willis and Corey Willis of Davis; Dallas Snider, Dillan Snider and Devyn Snider of Kentucky; Kayla Styron, Justin Styron, Luke Styron of Indiana; brother-in-law, Burgess Piner of Williston; several nieces and nephews; and cousin and best friend, Sylvia Fulcher.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Sue Piner; biological Parents, Abram and Sallie Davis and adoptive parents, Richard and Mittie Davis; five brothers and sisters, Willie Davis, Alton B, Davis, Emma L. Davis, Cleon Davis and Aleeze Salter; and son-in-law, Carroll Willis.

She will greatly be missed by her family and friends. Her dry humor and wit certainly made her "one-of-a-kind". She will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at the church.
