Betty (Brown) Gibbs

Betty Gibbs, 82, of Swansboro, was called home Thursday, May ­10­, 2018 at the Croatan Ridge Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Gethsemane Memorial Park, officiated by Reverend Gina Head Barrow.

She was known by many in the Pine Knoll Shores area due to her role as First Responder.

Betty is survived by her son, James C. Gibbs, III of Murray, Kentucky; daughters, Dianne Styron of Newport, Darlene Nethercutt and husband, Bill, of Adams Creek, Elaina Bell and husband, Edward, of Clayton; grandchildren, Samantha Coleman, Emily Gladkowski and husband, Mathew, William Bell and wife, Erin, Kyle Bell, Kayla Thurston and husband, Matthew, Cyndi Smith, Jacob Styron, Jamie Bell; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Gibbs, Jr.; brother, Tyra Lee Brown; parents, Lee and Virginia Brown; and son-in-law, Michael Styron.
