Betty (Willis) Dunn

September 25, 1935 — March 14, 2012

Betty Zane Willis Dunn, 76, of Williston, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 14, surrounded by her family at Taylors Extended Care in Sea Level.

Miss Betty (Nannie), as known by many, was an active member of the Williston United Methodist Church since her birth on September 25, 1935; to William Albert and Mary W. Willis. She served her Lord and Church as often as she could. She served on many committees, taught Sunday School to many local children and was a choir member for many years. Miss Betty loved to fellowship with her church family. The church and her family and community were her greatest pleasures.

She is survived by her three children; Sue Harvey and husband Nicky of Davis, Rodney (Bubba) Dunn and wife Patty of Smyrna, and Paula D, Gillikin and fiance Gary Denning of Otway. She has eight grandchildren: Heather Garner and fiance Brandon Lewis of Morehead City, Holly Rose of Beaufort, Lynda Long and husband Brandon of Beaufort, Jeremy Dunn and wife LaShonda of Cle-Elem, Washington, Amanda Delicato and husband Dominick of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mallory Vann and husband Shane of Ridgecrest, California, Billy Gillikin Jr. and wife Macy of Harkers Island and Tommy Gillikin of Otway. Thirteen great grandchildren; Shelby and Angelica Garner, Dylan Rose, Savannah and Branson Long, Bree Dunn, Camden Jessee, Dameon Hatstat, Jacob Vann; and Chandler, Conner, Caelyn, and Carly Gillikin. She also has sister- in laws, brother-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Miss Betty will be at the Williston United Methodist Church with visitation Saturday March 17th for 6-8 pm at the church and the funeral at 4pm on Sunday March 18th at the church. Burial will be at Oak Lane Cemetery in Williston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anson D. Dunn, parents Will and Mary Willis, and a son-in-law, Billy Gillikin, Sr.
