Betty McCormick Cline, 84, of Harkers Island, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on February 16, 2025.
A funeral service to honor Betty’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 21st at Harkers Island Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 22nd at Gibsonville Cemetery in Gibsonville, NC. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Betty was born June 19, 1940, to the late Jessie L McCormick and Minnie Neel McCormick in Gap Mills, West Virginia. She retired from AT&T Guilford Center before moving to Harkers Island where she enjoyed the island community and made long lasting friendships. She was a member of Harkers Island Methodist Church where she served in the choir. Betty was known for her gift of hospitality. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and loved spending time with her family and beloved dogs, Hans and Chance.
Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by her loving husband Ralph Wayne Cline and her sister Judy McCormick Echols of Ronceverte, West Virginia. She was a devoted mother to her son Jeff Tabor and daughter-in-law Julia Tabor of Burlington. Betty was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her stepson Russ Cline and wife Jennifer Cline, stepdaughter Lynn C Dailey and husband David, along with four step grandchildren, and one step great grandchild, are all from Wilmington, North Carolina. She will also fondly be remembered by her nieces, one nephew, and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bobby Echols of West Virginia.
