Betsy Emory Guthrie

Betsy Emory Guthrie, 73, of Harkers Island, passed away Saturday, November 10­, 2018, at Carteret Health Care.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Rev. Dell Murphy. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery on Harkers Island.

She is survived by her husband, William Guthrie, of the home; daughter, Andrea Brigman and husband, David, of Newport; step-daughter, Sharon Guthrie of Straits; sons, Karey Guthrie and wife, Cynthia, of Otway and Steven “Scott” Guthrie and wife, Kristy, of Wilmington; sister, Vonda Willis and husband, Guyon, of Harkers Island; brother, Garfield Emory, Jr. and wife, Delaine, of Harkers Island; and 5 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Madeline Emory.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church.
