Bertley Paul Willis, Sr., 55, of Harkers Island, passed away Sunday May 13, 2012 at his home surrounded by family.
A funeral will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Refuge Fellowship Church with the Rev. Manley Rose and assisted by Rev. Clint Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.
He was employed with the Civil Service at Cherry Point up until his illness. He enjoyed making a living as a commercial fisherman in his earlier years.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Willis of the home: one daughter Contessa Willis of the home, and a son Bertley Paul Willis, Jr. of the home: step daughters Crystal Dillard of Beaufort, and Nicole Rosenburg of Jacksonville and a stepson Brandon Hill of Beaufort:mother Sophia Willis of Harkers Island: sister Nancy Willis of Harkers Island: three brothers Al Willis of Davis, Fernie Willis of Davis, and Darrell Willis of Otway: three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his dad Bertley "Duncan" Willis.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at Refuge Fellowship Church.
