Benny Louis Cappo

Benny L. Cappo, Jr., 75, of Morehead City, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City officiated by Reverend Manley Rose, Jr. Interment will follow at Riggs Family Cemetery, Cove City with Military Honors.

Mr. Cappo served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict.

Benny was a master butcher and worked in several locations throughout Carteret County. He also enjoyed wood carving, walking on the beach with his wife, fishing, cooking and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, and caretaker to his beloved wife, Elizabeth.

He is survived by son-in-law, Jody Smith of Newport; stepdaughter Debra Tabuchi of Newport, NC; stepsons Willie Pohoresky and wife Cathy of Newport, NC, David Pohoresky of Newport, NC; brothers Randy Cappo of Kernersville, NC, Craig Cappo and wife Emily of Canal Fulton, OH, Jeff Cappo of Green, OH.; sister, Bettelou Cappo of Green, OH.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Smith of Newport, NC, Benjamin Smith of Newport, NC, Shaun Smith of Morehead City; seven step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Cappo; parents, Benjamin L. Cappo, Sr. and Virginia “Fern” Cappo; daughter, Lisa Cappo Smith, sisters, Marlene Frisone, Cheryl Roarty, and brother,  Ronald Cappo.

Family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home, Morehead City.
