Benjamin Guthrie

Benjamin Allen "Benjy" Guthrie, 66, of Morehead City, died Wednesday,March 24, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Durham, NC.
Mr. Guthrie served in the United States Navy, the Atlantic Beach Police Department, Beaufort Police Department, and the Creedmore Police Department, the N.C. State Port Authority, and the N.C. Department of Corrections.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Wiggs officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Guy Benjamin Guthrie, II and wife Christy of Keenansville; two grandchildren, Tanner Guthrie and Madison Guthrie both of Keenansville; former wife, Glenda H. Guthrie of Beaufort, three sisters, Barbara Spano of Morehead City, Guylene Scharf of Harkers Island, and Beth Gildersleeve of Woodland, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Benjamin and Margaret W. Guthrie, and sister, Patsy Rose.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
