Becky Tedder Bowling, 73, of Swansboro, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
She was born August 14, 1938 in Rock Ridge, NC, in Wilson County to the late George and Rosa Kirks Tedder.
Becky worked as a nurses aide at Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro, shipping clerk at Texfi Industries in Kinston, food server at Surf & Turf Restaurant in Kinston and T& W Oyster Bar in Swansboro, also as a lunchroom attendent at Newport Elementary School. Becky was co-owner and driver for Designated Driver Taxi Service in Swansboro.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Mumford officiating. Graveside services will be held 4:00 pm Sunday at Marsh Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Rock Ridge, NC.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Bowling; three daughters, Debbie Savage and husband Jim of Rocky Mount, Lynn Woodard and husband Tommy of Wilmington and Tina Hayes Smith of Swansboro. She was "Nana" to five grandchildren: Nathan Brabham and Krista Brabham of Rocky Mount, Jamie King of Kinston, Casey King of Swansboro, and Thomas Woodard, Jr. of Wilmington. Six brothers and sisters, El Tedder, Rose Lewis, Georgia Lamm, Jean Gunter, Joanne Ivey, Judy Bardin; sister-in-law, Joyce Tedder; her beloved friend, Sable, who was never far from her side, also numerous nieces and nephews.
Becky was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Tedder, and four sisters, Virginia Edwards, May Boykin, Allie Lamm and Rachel Brown.
The family will receive friends following the service at Munden Funeral Home.
