Barbara Jean Meadows Sparks

Barbara Jean Meadows Sparks, 68, of Stacy, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the Lower Cape Fear Life Center.

Barbara was born on January 20, 1956, in Minnesota, to the late Leon and Doris Meadows. Growing up with 4 brothers, she was the beloved sister in her close-knit family. 

Barbara was a faithful and longtime member of Reece’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed her working days with the Core Sound Crab Pot Christmas Tree Company, putting lights on the trees.

Barbara will be remembered as a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tina Brock of Asheville, NC and Holly Marsh (Stephen) of Mill Creek, NC; sons, Nicholas D. Culpepper III (Amanda) of Newport, NC and Jason Anthony Culpepper (Brandy) of Mill Creek, NC; son-in-law, Jimmy Brock of Newport, NC; brothers, Calvin Ernest Meadows of Newport, NC, William Joseph Meadows of Mill Creek, NC, Leon D. Meadows of Beaufort, SC, and Johnny Meadows of Swansboro, NC; grandchildren, Alysa Keiser, Ryan Brock, Caitlyn Marsh, Juliya Culpepper, Gianna Culpepper, and Mason Culpepper; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Keiser, Emily Keiser, and Michael Keiser.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Danny Sparks, who passed away in 2023.

The family will celebrate her life privately.
