Barbara (Link) Poynor

Barbara Link Poynor, 88, of Morehead City, formerly of Norfolk, VA, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, after a long illness.
A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, April 5 at Munden Funeral Home, with Rev. David Mills officiating.
Barbara was born January 25, 1926 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Turner A. and Ruby Hartley Link. She retired from Sovran Bank in Norfolk, VA. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Edwards and Lynn Shanks; two stepdaughters, Wanda Daniels and Diane Howe; grandchildren Melissa, Dana, and Justin; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas W. Poynor, two sons, Michael W.Shanks and Winston T. Shanks, and sister Bebe Bradley.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Crystal Bluffs for their kindness, care, and tender support, during Barbara's declining stages of life.
