Barbara Annette (Vinson) Jackson
January 3, 1943 — December 9, 2013
Annette Jackson, born January 03, 1943 passed early Monday morning, December 09, 2013 after a long bout with heart disease.
My Mother was my hero, everything she stood for one can see in the daughters that survive her. Her daughters with their significant others are Dee Clemons with her partner in life Jack Bryne, Tempie and Eddie Thornton, Angie and Pete Glynn and Gretchen and Jim Gearhart.
My Mother is survived also by her grandchildren, they are in the order they were born Cortnie Umphlett, Ashton Pate and her husband Josh Pate, Meagan McCall and her husband James Gardner, Jessica McLawhorn, Ellie Glynn, Holly Thornton, Barry Kelley, Maci Thornton and Jamisyn Gearhart . Her great-grandchildren are Hunter Gardner, Hayden Kite, Anthony Gardner and Annaleez Gardner. She is also survived by her partner in life, Swindell Barnes, with our extended family Sherry Peele with her husband Kevin Peele and Mark Barnes. As well as Annette's two brothers, Jesse Roland Hart and Tommy Vinson.
My Mother was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She never knew what it meant to be unkind and selfish. She offered many souls a place out of the rain and she raised her daughters to be the same unselfish people. She will be greatly missed on this earth, in fact as I write these her final words I am lost as to how I will go on, but I know that she will be here with me to make sure that I do.
There will be a memorial service at Munden Funeral Home, 2112 Arendell Street, Morehead City, North Carolina Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. We ask that you join us as we celebrate the life of a beautiful Mother, a beautiful friend and an inspiration to many.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society of Pitt County in her name. We ask that you emphasis that the donation is to find it's way to the Breast Cancer Awareness Relay Group, Diamonds of Radiology, Vidant Health Center. My sister Tempie has been in remission for eight years now, we want to keep her there, research will be the end all to cancer. Please join our fight.
