Barbara Bennett Farlee

Barbara Bennett Farlee, 86, of Beaufort, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6­, 2018, at Carteret Health Care.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Ann Street United Methodist Church at 417 Ann Street, Beaufort, NC, officiated by Reverend Taylor Mills. Interment, with Eastern Star Rites, will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.

Barbara was born in Beaufort and raised in Wilmington, NC. She attended nursing school before marrying Richard, a Marine, and they lived numerous places including a 3-year tour in Paris, France. After retirement the family moved to Beaufort in 1967.

Barbara was an active member of Ann Street United Methodist Church including the Wesleyan Circle. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.  Barbara never met a stranger, she was a loving and dedicated mother and wife that had a spirit of hospitality. She loved her family, her friends and angels.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Farlee Watkins and husband, Randall, of Bettie, NC; son,  Richard “Rick” E. Farlee, Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Statesville, NC; sister, Nancy Wolfe of Summerville, SC; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard E. Farlee and parents, Geddy and Myrtle Bennett.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Ann Street United Methodist Church.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials can be sent to the Beaufort Chapter of the Eastern Star at 1604 Courtyard East, Beaufort, NC 28516.
