Barbara Cecelia Dixon

Barbara Cecelia Dixon, 61, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Morehead City, NC.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Ambassadors for Christ Fellowship Center in Havelock, NC, officiated by Pastor Ulysses Dixon, Jr. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She served at Ambassador for Christ Fellowship center as the pastor’s wife and Executive Secretary. She was well known in the community for her generosity, love for God and kind spirit.

Barbara was born on January 11, 1957 in Morehead City, NC to Ellen Johnson and Edward Tyson. On June 29, 1973 she married Ulysses Dixon, Jr. Barbara is survived by her husband, Ulysses Dixon, Jr., of the home; three children, Corey Dixon and fiancé, Regina, of Newport, NC, Shannah W. Norris and husband, Trey, of Havelock, NC, and Melanie D. Black and husband, James, of Laurel, MD. Also surviving her are a host of siblings, Frankie Jones of Orlando, Fl, Robert Johnson of Morehead City, Clarica Parmley and Michael Johnson of Newport, Brent Johnson of WV, Shelby Johnson, Juanita Price and Lila Carter all from the Raleigh, NC area, Theodore Tyson, Joseph Tyson and Robert Tyson all of the Havelock area. She has a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as surrogate children, and step-daughter, Casier Dixon of VA, in which she cherished very much.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen Louise Johnson and brother, Gregory Johnson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Ambassadors for Christ Fellowship Center in Havelock, NC.
