Award "Bruce" Smith, Sr., 94, of Marshallberg, died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Snug Harbor.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday at Marshallberg Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Church officiating. Interment will follow at Through the Woods Cemetery.
He is survived by a son Award Bruce Smith, Jr. and wife Carol of Beaufort; and one grandson, Bruce Smith, III.
He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Gillikin Smith, parents Andrew and Jennie Smith, two brothers, Duane Smith and Sydney Smith, and a sister Myrtle Newman.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marshallberg Missionary Baptist Church PO Box 189 Marshallberg, NC 28553.
