Avon Hancock, 92, of Otway, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

He is survived by a daughter Sarah, son Lester, and grandson Matthew all of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Lillie Hancock, wife Rebecca Hancock, three brothers Harold, Charles, and Melvin Hancock, and three sisters Violet Gillikin, Rose Hiatt, and Sannie Hancock.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Crystal Coast Hospice House 100 Big Rock Weigh Newport, NC 28570.
