Beaufort

August Thomas DeLuca Jr., 75, of Beaufort, NC, passed away July 29, 2021.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Liberty Church in Havelock, officiated by Pastor Tom Roberts.

His friends and family all knew him as “Auggie” and his grandchildren called him “pop”. Auggie was a great man and a very hard worker. He will be remembered as someone who was always there for you when you needed him, no questions asked. He loved to make jokes and make people laugh. He very much loved his life’s work with auto mechanics and restoring old cars. He enjoyed going to races and NASCAR. His favorite driver being Mark Martin. He was definitely a Ford man.

He enjoyed his time on the water, fishing, boating, and kayaking. He loved to draw and dabbled in photography, as well as poetry. Auggie will be missed and always and forever will be in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Linda DeLuca of Beaufort; 8 children, Amanda Guiendon, Lonnie Sullivan, Michael DeLuca, Susan Enochs, Judi Dunkerly, Paul DeLuca, Donna DeLuca and Amy Vicker. He had 18 beautiful grandchildren, and many more loving great grandchildren.
