A B Quinn 88, of Morehead City, died Friday November 4, at Snug Harbor.
A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Tuesday November 8, at All Saints Anglican Church, with the Rev. David Linka officiating. Interment will follow at Amariah Garner Cemetery, with full military honors.
Bernerd was born in Newport, the youngest of 9 children, to William Waddell and Ella Elizabeth Quinn in 1923. He joined the Army and served in WWII and the Korean Conflict, then retired a Lt. Col. in 1963. He also retired as supervisor of Environmental Health with Carteret County Health Department.
He pioneered and help start the Community Action Program of Carteret County, and was involved in the organization of the Leon Mann Center.
He was a member of Newport Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters both of Morehead City Ann Quinn Tyndall and husband Bob, and Janet Quinn Ladenburger and husband Ed: two grandchildren John Dillon Ladenburger, and Rachel Claire Ladenburger both of Morehead City.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Georgia Lee Litsey Quinn.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Monday, at Munden Funeral Home.
