Arthur “Art” Allen Baize

Arthur “Art” Allen Baize, 68, of Carolina Pines, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Carolina East Medical Center.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, April 7th, at Munden Funeral Home, 908 Lake Road in Havelock.  His memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 8th, at the Cherry Point Base Chapel.

Art was born on May 30, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Arthur and Elisabeth Baize, 1 of 7 children. He grew up in Taylor, Michigan and following high school, he joined the United States Marines, retiring as a highly decorated Master Sergeant. Not one to stay idle, Art later did contract work at Cherry Point as a Logistic Analyst.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Baize of the home; daughter, Karyn Moll (Timothy) of Emmaus, PA; son, Timothy Baize (Melissa) Smithfield; sisters, Sandra Reid of Trenton, MI, Sharon Markiewicz (John) of Taylor, MI, and Nora Wandyg (Jeffrey) St. Clair Shores, MI; brother, Paul Baize (Betty) of Melvindale, MI; and grandchildren, Cameron, Caitlyn, Madisyn, and Landon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tama Pierson and brother, Neil Baize.
